Fire Protection
Structural Steel Fire Protection
Steel loses around half its load capacity near 550–600 °C. A thin insulating coating keeps it below that critical temperature for a rated period.
Thin protection, without bulky spray
Unprotected structural members can fail early in a fire, and thick cementitious spray is bulky and unsightly. Thermorphous S-T-02 (to 1500 °C) and SF203 (to 1200 °C) provide a thin insulating layer with strong adhesion to metal. Structural-steel fire protection is a named application for S-T-02. Matwerkz publishes maximum-temperature claims rather than UL/EN ratings, so where a certified rating is required we will confirm the assembly and thickness with you against the datasheet.
