Battery Safety & Thermal Runaway
When one cell goes into thermal runaway it can cascade to its neighbours. Our inter-cell barriers and dual-mode materials are engineered to delay and mitigate that propagation — buying time and protecting the pack.
A pack has to manage heat in normal use and block it in an event
Batteries need to conduct heat during normal operation, yet contain it when a cell fails. That dual demand is exactly what our materials are built for: a flexible inter-cell sheet that encapsulates cells, and a dual-mode compound that conducts heat below its transition temperature then turns insulating above it. Credible research shows inter-cell barriers delay and mitigate propagation rather than guaranteeing prevention — and we describe them that way. Our customers include battery and battery-pack manufacturers and large energy-storage-system makers.
